Abstract:

I am working on the phylogeny of phleboviruses, reassortment of their tripartite genomes and their pathogenecity. The most important Phlebovirus is Rift Valley fever virus and there is an active program of human and animal vaccine development for this agent using reverse genetics. Ilya Frolov and I are developing alphavirus replicon vectored Rift Valley fever vaccines for use in livestock and later humans.
